Our Story
Milk & Honey has been a part of Sebastopol's Main Street since opening in June of 1996, following the first Goddess Craft Faire. The shop came into being to serve the Goddess and Her community. Several years later the original owner, Jill, decided it was time to move on and sold the shop to Candra and Alyssa, who ran Milk & Honey with love and care for a decade. As life has a way of doing, these two big hearts were lead in other directions and that is how ownership of the shop came to Phoenix and her partner Gwion. The main threads that all of these wonderful folks have in common is a love of the Goddess, a belief in magick, and dedication to serving community.
A few words from Phoenix: The first time I went into Milk & Honey was the fall of 1996. I had been practicing witchcraft for two years at that point and I was looking for a place where I might find magick, supplies, and community. The shop has always been a place where the Goddess has been alive and over the years, I've returned to Milk & Honey time and time again, often to celebrate the major transitions in my life. The journey of becoming the owner of Milk & Honey has been filled with amazing synchronicity. I have felt the hand of the Goddess guiding this process and helping to shape it into reality. I hope to honor the lineage of powerful women who have offered pieces of their heart and soul to Milk & Honey, as well as the Divine Feminine that resides in us all.
I am a Priestess, teacher, and initiate in the Reclaiming Tradition of Witchcraft, the Avalon Druid Order, and Gardnerian Wicca. I've taught at Witchcamps and goddess-centric gatherings across the globe, as well as local classes around the Bay Area for nearly twenty years. I am a professional tarot reader and rootworker, offering spiritual counseling and magickal guidance. I hold the threads of the seemingly disparate traditions and weave a tapestry that helps folks connect to their own spiritual path and discover their work in the world.
